Comments: Mr hawk We had the pleasure of meeting you this past weekend at the fiesta grocery. We gave you a ride to your home and wow it was a long way for you to walk with a cane. We would like to offer to take you to the grocery store on the weekend when we can. Lets exchange phone numbers so we can help out and get to hear more of your story.

Comments: Hawk, I met you at a Roy Rogers restaurant on RT.50 outside the city of Annapolis. We talked for a while and you told me about your walk, and I shared some of my experiences on hiking the Applachian Trail with my daughter. I referred you to my wife's principal in Annapolis because she might be able to get you a night's accomodation in her church in Eastport. You mentioned about checking out the Annapolis paper as a verification for hiking in MD. This meeting was in the mid-1980's, and you still had not hiked Alaska or Hawaii. I guess you "bagged" them later, as well as many other places. My daughter plans to hike the Camino in Spain this next year or so. Wish I could too, but I think my long distance hiking days are over. I have thought about you over the years, but I only looked you up on my I Phone the other day when I was relating my story of meeting you to a friend. Congrats on a great journey.

Comments: Hey Hawk, I just found out about you today. I walk about 20 miles a week or about 1000 miles a year. I've been doing this since the 1960's so I'm on my second trip around the world in a manner of speaking.
As you might have noticed, I'm from Troy, New York. I read that you lived here when you were a teenager and later performed here. I'm very curious about your recollections of Troy, as I am a historic preservationist.
I hope you are well and thanks for the inspiration. Please contact me if you have the chance. Russell
